Simulation Library:

This podcast covers a technology that has been in SolidWorks Simulation for a few releases now but is underused by many of us performing analysis with Simulation.  Topics covered:

- Adding Motion features to Design Library

- Introduction to "Analysis Design Library"

- Setup and Library locations

- Creating new analysis library features

- How to add existing features to the library

- Editing/references/values

It has been over 3 years since I touched on this topic (episode 22) but wanted to share some tips to utilizing this Simulation Library to speed up the creation of studies for "What If?" scenarios.  With SolidWorks Simulation being positioned as an engineering tool to be used in-line with the design process, this Task Pane tool-set can really help get some of the more complex boundary conditions into your study via drag and drop.

Along with the ability to save analysis "features" like a force, this tool is capable of allowing parts and assemblies to be saved into the library format and used as a guide along with the features to assist to in proper setup from the seed example.  This can be a great way to bring the expertise of an analyst down into engineering to keep their test accurate as well. ~Lou
